Acne
Tip:
Do: Use a makeup remover before using
your treatment wash
Don't:
Wash acne prone skin with hand-cleanser at the sink or a regular bar of soap!
It's a common misconception that using an antibacterial
soap for the hands or body is good for oily problem skin. Not true! Here's
why - when you take a pump of the anti-bacterial soap at the sink and
wash your face with it you're applying a harsh chemically PH imbalanced
cleanser to your skin. Your skin responds to these harsh detergents by
turning on the sebaceous glands and releasing more oil to the skin’s
surface, and oily skin attracts more dirt and impurities and fosters
bacterial growth - which goes hand in hand with acne breakouts and blackheads.
Bar soap is
even worse, it's not only harsh but it's based in wax and always leaves
behind pore-clogging residue.
Make-up
Remover does two things. First, it removes your makeup and the other impurities
your skin has picked up. Second, a PH balanced makeup remover gently
cleanses skin without triggering the sebaceous glands to release more oil.
To summarize ... it's very important to
remove makeup first to prep skin for your treatment products
Don't Waste your treatment wash on
makeup removal!
