Guess What! You don't have to live with acne!

At the Skin Care Studio there has been great success clearing away acne and keeping skin clear! So if you have acne, give it the SCS one-two-three knockout! Acne doesn't stand a chance!

1 - Microdermabrasion

2 - Chemical Peel

3- Doing it right daily skincare

Step 1: Microdermabrasion treatments are worth every penny when it comes to running off acne. Microdermabrasion removes unwanted dead skin cells and scarred tissue using a continuous vacuum of microcrystal. It cleans pores down to the level where acne-causing bacteria is fostered and extracts it. Blackheads, whiteheads, pimples and scar tissue affected by them is removed. You'll feel clean and fresh and your skin will have a regenerated sparkling tone. You'll see a difference immediately! It actually feels like having a new face.

You may only need one microdermabrasion treatment or if your acne is stubborn you may need a series.

Step 2: For maintenance of clear skin an acne tune-up in the form of a chemical peel makes an amazing difference. Chemical peel treatments remove superficial layers of the skin. In the case of acne tune-up treatments, the peel is used to remove surface acne and root it out from the source deep within pores. Depending on your acne, you may need to have a tune-up once every couple months or once a week. It all depends on your condition.

Step 3: And here's how you can ward off acne on a daily basis!

Use professional skin care! This doesn't mean you have to use 'expensive' skin care - it means you must use skin care from a reputable laboratory with the right ingredients.

The Skin Care Studio offers three different skin care systems, depending on your skin condition and how it reacts to treatment. Most people find immediate results using a glycolic system. Interestingly, glycolic acid is found in sugar cane.

Other people react best to a benzoil peroxide treatment system which gently and deeply cleanses pores.

And once your skin regains a normal pH balance you'll be able to integrate the Emerald Skin Care system. This gentle cleansing system is ideal for acne-prone skin. It deep cleans without triggering oil production and lathers up nicely on the face.

Once or twice a week use a masque for acne prone sensitive skin. The healing properties of a good masque will make your face feel like you were just pampered with a facial; dead skin is sloughed away, acne is cleared, blackheads and whiteheads are drawn out, the skin is moisturized, angry skin becomes fresh and cheerful. You esthetician will recommend the right masque for you.

Acne Tip:

Do: Use a makeup remover.

Don't: Wash acne prone skin with hand-cleanser at the sink, dish-soap or a regular bar of soap!

It's a common misconception that using an antibacterial soap for the hands or body is good for your face. Not true! Here's why - when you take a pump of the ol' anti-bacterial soap at the sink and wash your face with it you're applying a harsh cleanser to your skin. Your skin gets upset by this harsh drying detergent so it tries to compensate -- by turning on the sebaceous glands and releasing more oil.

Oily skin attracts dirt and impurities in the air and fosters bacteria - which goes hand in hand with acne breakouts.

A makeup remover does two things. First, it deeply cleanses your pores of makeup and impurities so your pores are unclogged and clear. Second, a makeup remover gently cleanses your skin without triggering the sebaceous glands to release more oil.

AND - You'll find that makeup removers are inexpensive. It's okay to use an inexpensive makeup remover because the function of the makeup remover is purely for cleaning off cosmetics. You need to follow the makeup remover with your specialized cleansing system to cleanse your actual skin - otherwise the makeup remover could cause a breakout.

To summarize ... it's very important to use a makeup remover. Follow by cleaning your skin with a cleanser for your skin's needs.

More Tips! ...

  • Keep your pillowcase clean and change it frequently.

  • If you exercise, wash your face immediately after finishing the workout while your face is still pink and warm.

  • Do use a professional grade sunscreen on your face that's safe for sensitive skin.

  • Gently exfoliate the skin on a regular basis. For some people this may be everyday.
